Allison Janney bio
Allison Brooks Janney (born April 14, 1970) is an American actor. She is well-known for her performance on the stage and screen and stage, she has won numerous awards, including an Academy Award a British Academy Film Award as well as a Golden Globe Award and seven Primetime Emmy Awards, in addition to two nominations for Tony Awards. After nearly twenty years in the regional theatre and on stage, actress Allison Janney became a household name playing White House press secretary C.J. Gregg on The West Wing (1999-2006) an acclaimed and well-loved TV show. Allison Janney has always been a late bloomer. The permit to drive was not granted until she was 17 - a year later than many of her peers from Ohio. The first time she met a man was until she was enrolled in at university. Although she was auditioning at the age of 23, she has only appeared on screen in her mid-30s. Faris her varied work has featured her in mainly animated films since 2020 when she left Mom. The Estate in 2022 is the sole one exception. Faris has, in an exclusive announcement to PEOPLE stated that she did not make the choice conscious. Anna Faris left her popular CBS sitcom, Mom, before the eighth season's final episode. At the time, Faris announced that she would leave to pursue other opportunities, however, she's now revealing more on what led her to step back from acting, which she says wasn't a deliberate decision at the time. Janney is a regular character on the show and has always had a wig on. "I'm like, 'Guys, I've worn a wig since season one but nobody was aware of it," she said to Fallon and added that everybody in the world knows it now. Janney will keep her wig to preserve an ephemeral memory. The actress was said to earn anywhere up to $125,000 per episode during the early seasons of the series. Faris, along with partner Allison Janey, are estimated to have earned $200,000 an episode in the fourth or third season.
